Chinese food export and customs
As food exports to China increase every year, Chinese customs procedures are becoming more important. In March 2018, China underwent organizational reorganization to strengthen the food safety management system by clarifying relevant departments, responsibilities and procedures. Therefore, the current body in charge of customs clearance of imported food is the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (海关总署) under the State Administration for Market Regulation (国家市场监督管理总局). Due to stricter Chinese food customs clearance procedures, required documents and requirements have increased for foreign companies exporting to China. Therefore, there are companies that have difficulties in exporting due to impossibility or delay in customs clearance, and these companies can easily advance into China through the Chinese food export service of IGC Certification.
